– originate as a by-product of the food industry;
– are tanned using only vegetable tannins and environmentally friendly processes, therefore absolutely metal-free;
– are produced in the Tuscan Tanning District – the only Italian district with EMAS certification (Eco-management and Audit Scheme) – according to the criteria of circular economy, environmental and social responsibility, and in compliance with all regulations regarding labor, safety, health, law, and the environment.

Our vegetable tanning is done exclusively in Tuscany and speaks of an ancient tradition made of artisan mastery and patient waiting. MB Pellami produces cow shoulders, bellies, and fronts from calves and bulls, with thicknesses ranging from 1.2mm to 3.8mm, ideal for high-quality leather goods, belts, and saddlery. Our finishes include elegant aniline, traditional tamponato, and classic pull-up leathers but also extend to vintage, carved, pleated, and embossed styles, guaranteeing our clients a wide choice of textures and finishes.
